Hannaleena Heiska (b. 1973, Oulu) graduated from the Department of Painting at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2006. She was one of the artists nominated for the biggest art prize in Finland, the Ars Fennica, in 2011.

Heiska has exhibited internationally, among others, at EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Gothenburg Art Museum, Haus am Lützowplatz, Berlin, Espace Louis Vuitton, Tokyo, Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, and Turku Art Museum. She has participated in Momentum biennial editions 5 and 10 in Moss, Norway, The 4th Ural Industrial Biennial, Yekaterinburg, Russia and The 14th Vilnius Painting Triennial, Lithuania.

Her moving image works have been shown at numerous film festivals in Europe and awarded by the jury twice.
